DN Nib
In 1969 Mitsutoyo developed an upset hex bolt forming system along with standardized high-speed steel hex nib and ring specifications for mass production upset forming of hex bolts.
This tooling is normally kept in stock for M3 to M14 sizes.
Mitsutoyo has also developed the DN nib which is a hex segmented tungsten carbide die insert used for mass quantity high-speed upset bolt forming.
The tungsten carbide DN nibs are normally kept in stock in sizes from M4 to M14 to support fastener makers.
The advantage of this system is that DN nibs can be supplied to the customer quickly at the time of order and in the exact quantity requested.
